Our Values

These values shape and mold everything we do as a church.

Truth

Christ Church is rooted in God’s truth found in the Bible and revealed in the person and work of Jesus Christ, who is truth (John 14:6). We pursue God’s truth, and everything we do is centered around and informed by it.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” - Jesus,  John 14:6

Community

Truth, however, is not pursued individually, but within the confines of a loving community. In this community people are free to struggle, ask hard questions, lovingly challenge and encourage one another, and walk with each other through the difficulties and hardships of life. We seek to love each other, know each other, and share our lives with each other (I Thessalonians 2:8). This is difficult and vulnerable, but profoundly life changing, because truth experienced in community produces change.

We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.
- I Thessalonians 2:8

Mission

Mission is our call to be salt and light in the world by sharing the gospel with others in word and deed. Everyone needs the gospel, and we are God’s plan for sharing the good news with the world. We do this by warmly welcoming people into our community as well as lovingly, intentionally, and boldly seeking people out to introduce them to our Savior.

Mission requires humility, patience, love, and sacrifice. We do not offer others the gospel because we have it all together, but because we know Jesus is our only hope now and for eternity. We are beggars telling other beggars where to find bread.

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. - Acts 2:46-47
